Dining in Los Angeles

Nowhere is dining more eclectic than in Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles has whatever you crave be it seafood, Italian or something new.

Seafood and character can be found at Fisherman’s Outlet. Starting out as a fish market in 1961, Fisherman’s Outlet has become a landmark in Los Angeles dining. Gourmet seafood is served in bountiful shares at reasonable prices. Delectable dishes from giant shrimp in butter sauce to sweet teriyaki tilapia are served quickly by shouting crews. Chilean sea bass with salsa, New England chowder and giant sea scallops will have you coming back for more. Locally known as The Fish Place, this vibrant restaurant is not found on the usual tourist path. Once you find it, however, you will return.

Cicada is located in downtown Los Angels. This art deco restaurant features modern northern Italian food with some Asian accents. Intricate metal work greets customers at the grand front entrance. The floor is marble and groups of backlit glass triangles adorn the ceiling at this trendy restaurant. Meals like Tuna Tartar with avocado and polenta with shrimp await the hungry diner. Save room for dessert. Hazelnut Mousse Cake, Prohibition Crème Brulee and Honey Pear Cake are just a few of the tantalizing treats at Cicada. Finish off the meal with a Macchiato or Cicada Coffee.

For a truly unique dining experience visit Engine Co. No. 28. This firehouse had its first emergency call in July 1913. It was Los Angeles’ most expensive fire station at the time, worth over $60,000. Today, this restaurant features mahogany booths, pressed tin ceiling and brick floors. You can enjoy traditional firehouse cooking with meals such as Three Alarm Quesadilla and Firehouse Chili. Finish with a 911 Fudge Sundae or a slice of apple pie.

Or consider California Cuisine, Chinese food, or Thai for something different. There is also a variety in cafés, bistros and delis. Dining in Los Angeles can be a new experience every night.
